Live Poets Society of New Jersey - National High School Poetry Contest

  • Scholarship Description
  • All U.S. high school students are eligible to enter the poetry contest. That eligibility is continuous until June 30 of their senior year. Poems must be 20 lines or less (title and spaces between stanzas do not count), unpublished, the sole work of the entrant, and not be entered in any other concurrent contest. Only poems written in the English language can be judged. Foreign phrases are acceptable only with a translation provided. Only one poem per poet may be entered during any 90-day span. Estimated deadlines for each quarterly publication vary. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

I entered this contest a couple of months ago (maybe 2) and my poem was within the top 2% of all poems across the nation that were submitted. My poem won in the "My World" division, and will be published in one of their books. I highly recommend entering this, because it was a lot of fun to be able to write my own poem!

University of California Seeks New Standardized Test
