  • Scholarship Description
  • The Budding Blogger Scholarship Fund is a interest-based scholarship offered during the spring for high school seniors that aspire to enter the field of journalism following graduation which include radio (AM/FM, podcast, etc.), print (reporter, contributing writer [web-based], etc.), broadcast (TV, YouTube, Periscope, etc.) and digital reporting (social media correspondents).

    The Budding Blogger Scholarship Fund is open to students that intend on majoring in journalism at a 2 or 4 year college/university. The fund is also open to students that will be entering the workforce and will pursue a freelance media career. No GPA requirement. However, awardees will be required to submit their unofficial high school transcripts.

    The Budding Blogger Scholarship Fund's application is short, fun and easy to complete. Students will be asked to prepare a 500-word essay regarding their media interest as well as submit their media portfolio (photos, audio, video, etc.).
