Scholarship Description

The late Jerry Leiber and his partner Mike Stoller, writer of such hits as “Hound Dog,” “Kansas City,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Stand By Me,” “On Broadway,” and “Is That All There Is?” established The ASCAP Foundation Leiber & Stoller Scholarship program.

This scholarship provides assistance to high school seniors or recent high school graduates who will be attending college majoring in music. They should be aspiring songwriters, musicians, instrumentalists or vocalists who will study at a college or university.

Eligibility

  • High school seniors or recent graduate
  • Majoring in Music at an accredited college or university
  • Aspiring songwriters, musicians, instrumentalists or vocalists

Applying

  • Complete the application online
  • If under 18, submit the parental consent for and photo ID
  • Upload the MP3 file of the song you wish to submit for entry
  • Upload the lyric sheet for the song you have uploaded

The selected Award Recipient will receive $10,000 over four years of college or university study. The scholarship will be sent directly to the school for tuition assistance.
