Scholarship Description

The Elizabeth Anne Ala Scholarship provides a $2,000 award to a graduating senior from any high school in Garland ISD who has excelled in bilingual studies or an ESL program. This scholarship supports students in their pursuit of higher education and may be used for tuition, fees, and books at any accredited college or university in the United States.

Scholarship Details

  • Award amount: $2,000
  • For Garland ISD high school seniors
  • Must have participated in and excelled in bilingual studies/ESL program
  • Funds can be used for tuition, fees, and books at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Application deadline: April 1st

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA in all bilingual/ESL classes
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or documented legal resident

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application.
  2. Submit official high school transcripts.
  3. Write and submit a short essay.
  4. Provide two letters of recommendation.
  5. Complete the FAFSA to demonstrate financial need.
