To be eligible for the IEI Scholarship, students must attend an Illinois university, be of at least Junior standing, and be enrolled in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).
Scholarship Details
- Available to engineering students at Illinois universities with ABET-accredited programs
- Must be at least an incoming junior
- Minimum B average required
- Selection based on scholarship, financial need, involvement, and career interest
Eligibility Criteria
- Enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program in Illinois
- Engineering technology majors are not eligible
- Incoming junior or higher standing
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (B average)
- Must demonstrate financial need
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application and needs analysis form
- Submit official transcripts of all college/university coursework (sent separately)
- Provide two letters of reference: one from a department chair/faculty member, one from a past employer or professional contact
- Submit a typewritten essay (200 words or fewer) outlining your career goals as a professional engineer
