  • Scholarship Description
  • The WMCCAI Essay/Presentation Contest is open to all high school seniors within the WMCCAI service area (Washington, DC Metropolitan Area). This year’s topic: "Describe the importance of community during times of crisis and how, in times of social distancing, you can strengthen your community." Applicants must submit either a 500-700 word essay or 90-second media presentation on the year's topic. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The award winner will be announced within 60 days after the application deadline, displayed in the Quorum magazine and on CAI’s website. University to Give New Students Free Laptops for Filing the FAFSA

The coronavirus made laptops a necessity for college students. Where before students without personal computers or laptops could use on-campus computers and provided software to meet the technological needs of their courses, the shift last spring to online classes necessitated that students have a stable internet connection and a compatible device. While the majority of students were able to meet this requirement, according to a study by EDUCASE, some students found themselves without a modern laptop that could run the most up-to-date browser, use RAM-heavy software or keep up even with reliable high-speed Wi-Fi.
