The Dallas Jewish Community Foundation and Southwest Community Foundation provide a variety of scholarships to students from Dallas, Denton and Collin Counties. While the overall majority of scholarships are for students from the tri-county area, there are many exceptions. There are also scholarships for students at the University of Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Southern Methodist University, plus a variety of graduate school scholarships.
Scholarships range in dollar amounts, with most allowing study at the college or university of the recipient's choice. In addition to general scholarships, there are specific scholarships for those studying the following fields: veterinary medicine, medical, law, education, fashion merchandising, nutrition, and Jewish studies. Applicants must be full-time students attending college in the fall of the year the scholarship is awarded, and U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Individual scholarship criteria varies.
