  • The PGA of America is offering ten scholarship awards of $8,000 to students pursuing a PGA Golf Management University Program degree. Applicants must be high school seniors, high school graduates or current undergraduates planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at one of the accredited PGA Golf Management Universities for the entire coming academic year. Qualified applicants must be pursuing a PGA Golf Management University Program degree with the intent to pursue PGA of America Membership. NC Senator Proposes Taxing of Athletic Scholarships

In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]
