  • Scholarship Description
  • Rubber Division Undergraduate Scholarships are given to students entering their junior or senior year of academic study with a "B" or better academic average for all of their undergraduate work and a minimum of three (3) semesters or six (6) terms completed. Applicants may have a major area of study in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science or any other technical discipline of relevance to the rubber industry. The scholarship winners will have a serious interest in full-time professional employment in the rubber industry upon graduation and shall show promise of a productive future as a technically trained professional. These scholarships are applied to one academic year and are to be used toward total tuition expenses. Checks are mailed directly to the college or university.

$43M in Loans Forgiven for Students of Closed Colleges

The federal government discharged more than $43 million in student loan debt for former students of recently closed for-profit colleges. Students who attended programs operated by Education Corporation of America, Dream Center Education Holdings, Vatterott College and Charlotte School of Law will be able to qualify for a full discharge of their federal loans if they were enrolled when their college closed or withdrew within 120 days of the official closure date and didn’t transfer to another institution, according to Inside Higher Education.
