To be eligible for the Marcia Quick Gard Theatre Arts Scholarship, applicants must: be at least 18 years old; and either have been accepted to attend, or be already enrolled at, an accredited college, university or conservatory as a theatre major with the intent of becoming a professional actor. Prior to the auditions, applicants must complete the entire registration form, and they must write a 300-word essay (in Word format) explaining why they wish to become a professional actor. Upon arrival at the auditions, please give the stage manager three copies of a theatre resume and a headshot.
The annual Marcia Quick Gard Theatre Arts Scholarship was created, funded, and is entirely managed by Larry Gard in memory of his deceased wife, and in honor of her dedication to the art of acting and her life-long accomplishments on stage. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide an opportunity for serious acting students to audition for an award of financial assistance to be used toward their education as a professional actor.
