Scholarship Description

A scholarship is gift assistance that does not have to be repaid. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's academic achievement, athletic ability, field of study, special talents, etc. Students must report outside scholarships so SFAS can recalculate aid eligibility. If students have remaining unmet need or have not exceeded their cost of attendance (COA), other awards will not be affected.

The Chancellor's Fellows is UIC's most prestigious award. This is offered to graduating seniors of Illinois high schools. To be eligible, applicants have two choices. They can either rank first in their class. Or, they must have a 3.7 GPA and: must have a total of at least 10 Honors, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate (HL) in 11th and 12th grades combined in core subject areas (math, science, English/language arts, social sciences/humanities, foreign languages); or have an ACT of 33 or SAT score of 1450. In addition, applicants must demonstrate financial need. Students must be enrolled in 12 credits each semester and must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
