Scholarship Description

The AbbVie Immunology Scholarship aims to reduce the financial burden for students impacted by inflammatory diseases. Through this scholarship, our passion for patient care is extended to empower students as they pursue a degree and a life that is not defined by their disease.

Scholarship Details:

  • Aim: Alleviate the financial burden for students affected by inflammatory diseases.
  • Purpose: Extend AbbVie's commitment to patient care by empowering students to pursue a life beyond the constraints of their disease.

Eligibility

  • You may apply if you have been diagnosed with one of the following diseases:
    • Ankylosing spondylitis (AS)
    • Atopic dermatitis (AD)
    • Crohn's disease (CD)
    • Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS)
    • Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)
    • Plaque psoriasis (Ps)
    • Psoriatic arthritis (PsA)
    • Rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
    • Ulcerative colitis (UC)
    • Uveitis (UV)
  • US citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school for the entire upcoming academic year

Application Process

  1. Gather and provide documentation supporting your disease diagnosis.
  2. Complete the online application
  3. Personal statement sharing the impact of your disease and your aspirations.
  4. Submit letter of recommendation

If an applicant has been diagnosed with more than one of these inflammatory diseases, the applicant should choose the most relevant inflammatory disease for this application. The scholarship is available to anyone who is beginning or continuing postsecondary education in the current academic year. Eligibility and receipt of scholarship awards are contingent upon enrollment at an accredited US-based post-secondary education institution for the applicable school year.
