I am technically considered a senior citizen at 57 y/o. Although that is enough to scare me into not continuing my secondary education I decided to blow past that. It is indeed a daunting thought. Why would I want to get a Masters's of divinity? Because i should and i can. Because I never finished because life got in the way, health got in the way and finances got in the way. this is how you can help a 50+-year-old minority finish strong. I am 30 credits away and you could make it so I don't have another excuse. At least not financial.

I would have applied for this scholarship but I attended an accredited college which shut down 2 weeks before finishing my associates degree. Luckily I had started out for a different degree and had some extra credits and was given my associates degree with honours. I wanted to attend university of Wisconsin for cyber security boot camp and I was looking for a scholarship to do that. I’m about to turn 51 and wanted to get my education completed. I’m out of work due to COVID-19 and figured it’s a great time to finish this. Please let me know if there’s anyway I can get a scholarship at my age and in this position in my life.

My dream is to become a software engineer and my mom is unable to pay for college and I have been a great student. As a child of a single parent and minority, it would be a dream come true to attend one of the top universities because I know I can do the hard work and up for the challenge, but money is the only thing standing in the way. I already started on great projects. please help me make this possible to go to the highest level. Thank you! Denzel D.

I hope I've a realistic chance of procuring this scholarship! I was an Honors Program student at a 2 year school, perfect 4.0/Dean's List, Ed of paper, chosen for the Harvard UN Debate but my then-husband insisted I leave school to run his business. Now I want to achieve my dreams of a successful medical career but financial constraints limit me immensely. If I had this scholarship I could follow my lifelong dreams at last and contribute the few gifts I've been blessed with and help others. I'm praying!

I would love the opportunity to enroll in a program that will help me get my education off the ground. I am trying to get a certification as an Esthetician and the funded will help with my shortfall of education assistance. I am a grandparent of twins helping my single parent daughter. I relocated to Texas from Las Vegas so I need some kind of career going to help our family. 2020 has been rough for our premature twins born during the COVID crisis. So any help will get me off to a great start. Thank you

Scholarships.com's Weird Scholarships Part Two

January 21, 2021

by Izzy Hall

There are a lot of scholarships out there, some more conventional than others. Last time, we discussed a scholarship for students interested in becoming part of the chicken industry, but even that scholarship is far from the weirdest. There are some scholarships out there that have unusual criteria, to say the least. It may be based on something totally out of your control, like your height or last name. It may be awarded on how much you like a card game, or to whomever comes up with the most creative way to use a household product. It may even be for students interested in… potatoes? No joke, these five scholarships are some of the weirder ones on our site. Are you weird enough to apply? [...]
