I applied for this scholarship because I want college to be as affordable as possible for me without going into debt. I hope to major in psychology and minor in social services trying for my masters degree so I can work towards becoming a victims advocate. With my career I hope to help people who need my services and getting scholarships would make easier to achieve my goals without having to worry about paying off a huge chunk of student loan debt.

I have been a full time worker since I was fourteen years old. I have been struggling financially due to my families financial instability. I have lived in poverty my whole life and I have been trying to get out. I finally have an opportunity to adjust myself and pursue a rewarding career as a Speech Language Pathologist, while working two jobs as a Certified Nursing Assistant and as a Paraprofessional for the district of Springfield Public schools. My calling is to help people and become the best version of myself. The only thing that I am struggling with now is how to pay for school. It's been hard due to Covid-19, but all I ask is for an opportunity to demonstrate to myself that I can get ahead and pursue my career path as a Speech Language Pathologist with your help. Thank you. Best regards, Madeline Hernandez

My brother is fighting cancer and spends lots of time in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House has been an amazing help to my family. The financial burdens of his treatments alone strap my parents...thankfully we have been offered to stay at the Ronald McDonald House near our hospital. Not only is the housing for us, but in the hospital itself there is a Ronald McDonald Room were we are able to go and eat. Knowing that we do not not have to stress about paying for room and board while my brother is getting treatments is such a relief. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

I cannot extend an appropriate amount of thanks to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and their gracious aid at the Akron Children's Hospital, wherein I've spent a lot of time. I've been hospitalized in recent years for my connective tissue disorder, my many knee surgeries, as well as participation on the eighth floor for mental health. Time and time again, my own family, and the families of countless other patients have been aided and given shelter close to their children in hard, even devastating, times. Thank you.

Noah W  on 1/16/2018 8:37:24 PM

The Ronald McDonald House is such a blessing. It would be an honor to be awarded this scholarship.

Molly L  on 1/16/2018 5:37:10 PM

The Ronald McDonald House holds means very muchfor me and my family. I am the oldest and the only girl. When I turned three and four days later I was a big sister of triplet brothers. Thomas, Davis and Benjamin came in this world two months early. Thomas weighed 1lb and 10oz. Thomas became very sick . My family has had to fly to New York for a special surgery to lengthen his leg. The Ronald McDonald House has be a blessing to my family and many families that are in need for a place to stay while away from their other children. The cost to stay in New York would have been very hard on my parents. The Ronald McDonald house provided a safe , clean and loving stay for Thomas , my mom and my dad while away from Davis, Benjamin and I. I can not thank this organization enough. I want to give back to my community by working with children who have speech problems . I want to be Speech Therapist. This scholarship would help parents. My brothers will be 15 on May 4th of this year. College for them is right around the corner. Three in college at the same time. Wow!!

Every little bit helps! I'm going towards veterinary technician career, and I'm trying to apply for any scholarships possible to ease the cost of tuition. I want to give back to the animal community just as graciously as they give to us.

Yes I applied for this scholarship because of my pursuit to further my career and be able to attend college for Anthropology and the study of human behavior/sociology. Coming from a family who lives pay check to paycheck I am trying to find any financial help out there to help make my dreams come to. I am applying for this scholarship to help pay for my college expenses. I plan on majoring in Biology. I love to play soccer and also hope to play for the college team.

Alayna I  on 1/10/2018 6:31:08 AM

My father who is 50, never had anyone form his family go to college, and he decided years ago to go back to school and pursue a degree. Although it has been slow paced for him, he continues to plug along. I thought how wonderful it would be to possibly graduate around the same time he did, and a scholarship like this would aide in that dream. I would be humbly appreciative if considered for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship.

Madeline J  on 1/10/2018 1:15:23 AM

In order to pursue my dreams in the medical field, I must go through many years of school. As I live in a single income household, my family's financial situation may hold me back from doing what I love. I would love to one day bring happiness to families through medical aid.

Jalen M  on 1/9/2018 7:37:10 PM

They scholarship would greatly help peruse my dreams, and become a asset to my community.

Tyenna C  on 1/9/2018 11:56:53 AM

I an applying for the Ronald McDonald House scholarship to help me pay for my college expenses. College is very expensive and every penny counts! I love helping others and I will do everything in my power to accomplish my goal in becoming a Registered Nurse. :)

Katie Y  on 1/9/2018 11:49:47 AM

Applying for the scholarship will help me achieve my dream of becoming a nurse. During the Christmas of 2017, I was in the hospital because of an Aneurysm. I was sent to the Children's hospital in Milwaukee. I was a patient there for about two months and my family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House. I applied for this scholarship because I am so thankful for Ronald McDonald, giving a living space for my family. So if I achieve at getting this scholarship, I would put it into good use and succeed my dream of becoming a nurse. I saw how amazing my nurses were and it automatically triggered me and I knew exactly what I wanted to be, a nurse. I want to help people who were in a situation like me and I will do anything and everything to accomplish my dream and The Ronald McDonald's scholarship will be help me start my journey.

Peter C  on 1/8/2018 12:54:54 PM

Sara K  on 1/4/2018 1:09:22 PM

At least twice a year, I travel to Texas with my mom to see Syrian refugee children receive their burn treatment at Shriners Hospital. Through my visits, I have seen how the Ronald McDonald House helps these families. Therefore when I came back home after one of the trips, I organized a book drive and collected well over 400 books and donated them to my local Ronald McDonald House, which is located in our local hospital. I would love to be considered for this scholarship because I have not only seen the how the houses help families, but I have donated to my local Ronald McDonald House. Recently I have heard back from my number one school, Chapman University, and I was accepted into their 2+3 PharmD program, but since the school is expensive, this scholarship would help allow me to attend my dream school and allow me to pursue my dream job.

Ramona R  on 1/2/2018 2:30:20 PM

Applying for this scholarship is helping me to achieve that goal.

Cristian C  on 1/5/2017 8:16:58 AM

Just the idea of following my dream as a pharmacist gives me a feeling of glee. To help from infants to adults to even the elderly while actively creating bonds at every stage of life. That is why I beg your pardon to consider me as an applicant

Breanna A  on 11/5/2016 12:40:25 AM

I loved participating at the Ronald McDonald House through my years in high schools so I figured why not apply for a scholarship that I'm familiar with! Also, every penny counts!

dominique h  on 10/13/2016 11:08:32 PM

Every penny counts! so with that being said I'm being proactive and applying for every scholarship no matter the amount because everything adds up. I'm going to college to pursue the career of a sports physical therapist

My hand was mangled in an escalator accident when I was 7 and I was in the hospital a week after major plastic surgery. My hand healed thanks to top notch medical staff and I want to be able to help others. This money would help me do that. :)

Tristan L  on 1/18/2016 2:00:53 PM

This scholarship would help me pay for my college tuition to pursue my dreams of being a computer science major. It would help me and my family in a time of need to help pay for my college costs. I have to pay for my college tuition if I want to go and this scholarship would benefit me heavenly!

Angela V  on 1/1/2016 3:04:20 PM

This scholarship could help pay for my college tuition. I would be the first of my family to attend college and make something of myself. My parents came to this country for a better life and I will show them their voyage was worth it. Education is the key to success, it is true. I need that chance to open up doors for myself.

Stella R  on 12/31/2015 7:16:32 PM

Winning this scholarship would mean so much to my family and myself. It would take so much weight off our shoulders and help me further my education and receive better potential. My whole life I've grown up in a small family. Just my mom and I. So when senior year arrived we got financial debt when applying to colleges and sending out scores. Again, winning this would mean you helped us in so many ways!

Rebecca R  on 9/9/2015 5:08:07 AM

I spent the majority of the summer of my freshmen year of high school in the pediatric ward at UCLA Mattel's Children's Hospital. I spent over a month in treatment and recovery for acute pancreatitis. It was the most painful and emotional experience of my life; Not to mention emotional for my parents watching me go through such an awful ordeal. Everyday, the nurses (and, of course, the doctors) took such great care of me. They always showed me so much kindness, empathy and cheerfulness. Their willingness to help me is the reason why I would like to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse. It's my way of "paying it forward" to other children that need help and comfort.

Weston L  on 8/13/2015 10:26:35 PM

Can't wait t submit my application for this one. I have lived almost 3 of th last 6 years in a RMH. Since I miss an average of 80-100 of school per year due to my illness, I've had the privelage of being schooled by awesome RMH teachers since 7 th grade. The House that love built!!!!!!!

Haley C  on 7/26/2015 11:27:00 PM

Haley R  on 12/5/2014 11:26:47 PM
