  • Scholarship Description
  • The scholarship is designated for students who were diagnosed with cancer and whose disease and related treatments placed a significant financial burden on them and their families. Scholarship recipients must furnish a letter of confirmation by a licensed physician as proof of their cancer diagnosis. Please note that this documentation will be required following the award notification and should not be submitted with the application. Applicant must be a US citizen residing in the USA.

    The recipient must demonstrate academic achievement through evidence of working to one’s potential and be accepted for admission at an institution of higher education, e.g. college, community college, university or vocational school. "U of Farmington" Fraudsters Prosecuted, Deported

NC Senator Proposes Taxing of Athletic Scholarships

In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]
