I'm very interested in applying for this scholarship. I'm a very active student within my community as well as keeping a high academic standing with a GPA within the 3.5-4.0 range. As a seventeen-year-old, I've experienced quite a lot of traumatic things such as my mother having cancer and my father being absent for the majority of my life. I believe this scholarship would be very beneficial to me.

I am extremely interested in applying for this scholarship. I volunteer for my church in leadership roles, I volunteered in my school to participate in social groups, while dealing with the death of my father. Through it all I have maintained a GPA of a 2.5-3.0.

I would appreciate the chance to have the ability to apply for this scholarship. I feel that even though I had the terrible misfortune of losing my Father to Colon Cancer when I was younger, I have still been able to excel Academically as well as in drama, bowling and theater.

Applying for this scholarship will give me greater resources to expand my involvement in my community to a a greater community at college. I am an extremely determined person with a lot of compassion for others. My mother was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer just days after my tenth birthday and has been fighting the same cancer for the past almost eight years . My mother’s strength to continue her fight every single day for the past eight years has showed me how to be a resilient and compassionate human being.

I would love to apply for this scholarship as I have been heavily involved in my community's performing arts, as well as show traits of leadership, compassion, and determination, all while dealing with a mother diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and a father diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.

I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to apply to this scholarship as I feel that I contribute to my community through leadership despite having a mother who had cancer and an absent father.

There are a lot of scholarships out there, some more conventional than others. Last time, we discussed a scholarship for students interested in becoming part of the chicken industry, but even that scholarship is far from the weirdest. It may be awarded on how much you like a card game, or to whomever comes up with the most creative way to use a household product. It may even be for students interested in… potatoes? No joke, these five scholarships are some of the weirder ones on our site. Are you weird enough to apply? [...]
