  • Wm. C. “Bill” Sterner Memorial Scholarship is for high school seniors attending an accredited Colorado high school who are applying for and are planning to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder.

    This scholarship is named in honor of Wm. C. "Bill" Sterner, Elevations Credit Union President and CEO from 2000 – 2008. Mr. Sterner was active in the credit union movement at all levels, state and local as well as national and international. Mr. Sterner’s passion for credit unions was rooted in a strong sense of education and consumer advocacy. Mr. Sterner epitomized the spirit of the credit union movement. The mark he left on Elevations as well as the entire credit union movement is exemplified by a strong sense of volunteerism and education. Carpenter Comps College Costs for 33 Iowans

An Iowa Carpenter sent 33 Iowan students he never met to college with the $3 million he had in savings. Prior to his death in 2005, Dale Schroeder told his attorney that he wanted to direct his will money towards sending underprivileged students to college.
