Since it was founded in 1890, the General Federation of Women's Clubs has been a unifying force, bringing together local women's clubs from around the country and throughout the world. Although there is considerable diversity in the ages, interests, and experiences of GFWC clubwomen, all are united by a dedication to community improvement through volunteer service. Throughout their generosity, GFWC Massachusetts offers numerous scholarships.
To be eligible for the GFWC Massachusetts Pennies for Art Scholarship, applicants must be a senior in a Massachusetts high school, or home schooled and achieved the standards for graduation set by the town of residence. In addition to completing the application, applicants must: complete a personal statement of not more than 500 words addressing their goals; submit a recommendation letter from their art instructor; submit a transcript and a driver's license or high school ID; and submit both a traditional art portfolio and a digital arts version portfolio. Dollar amounts for the scholarship will vary, though it starts at $500.
