  • Scholarship Description
  • The Stephen Rice Memorial Fund was created as a tribute to Stephen's love for, and work within radio, television, and film, and to honor his steadfast charitable work in Austin. Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and students currently enrolled at any college or university. Scholarship monies will be paid directly to the educational institution in the student’s name. Student applicants must meet the following requirements: participation in radio, television, journalism, public relations, broadcasting, electronic media or film activity, self-identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Transgender or Queer, current high school senior or an enrolled college student at time of application, U.S. Citizen or permanent resident and current resident of Texas for at least two years, 2.5 or higher Grade Point Average (4.0 scale), documented and active community service, complete an application that includes a 300-word essay, must have acquired acceptance to, or be enrolled at Texas college of his/her choice and be an enrolled full-time student for the fall semester.
