Scholarship Description

To assist worthy students in Georgia with college tuition, the Georgia Mining Foundation was established with a $40,000 scholarship fund to be distributed as individual $500 scholarships. In addition to these individual $500 scholarships, the Foundation will also be giving away three $1,000 scholarships to be paid out over two years ($500 a year for two years). High school seniors attending schools in counties where the companies maintain operations are eligible to apply.

To be eligible, applicants must: have been accepted for admission and plan to attend an accredited college or university in the Georgia; attain a minimum score of 960 on the New Scholastic Aptitude Test (this includes Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math); or attain a minimum score of 18 on the American College Testing (this includes English, Math, Reading-Comprehension and Science); complete required high school courses; have an overall average of 85% or higher; and receive a faculty recommendation (teacher or counselor) and signature of faculty member on the application.
