  • Scholarship Description
  • The Presidential Leadership Scholarship is the University of Montana's premier freshman scholarship. Presidential Scholars are chosen solely on academic merit with scholarships being renewable for a total of four years. Approximately 25 PLS awards are made each year to incoming freshman.

    Resident students receive a full tuition waiver. Non-resident students either have their tuition discounted through the WUE program or they receive a waiver equivalent to in-state tuition (currently $4,373). All PLS recipients also receive a stipend of $7,500 for the Gold Level or $5,000 for the Silver Level.

    Eligibility: must be recent high school graduates who have not previously enrolled as a regular college or university student. Finalists in the past classes of Presidential Leadership Scholars posted an average of 3.81 GPA, SAT combined score of 2013, and ACT composite score of 31.
