When I was four years old, I was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP). CIDP is a neurological disorder, a condition that targets my body’s nerves and affects my ability to walk. My parents and I were told that I would be paralyzed by age ten. I am eighteen years old now and I have not lost my ability to walk. Living with CIDP has been very challenging especially because I have been dealing with this chronic and rare illness since I was five months old. I volunteered for two years and during my time at RAVE, I learned to care and provide services for the children. I was so fascinated with working with children that I decided to apply for an internship at Renown Medical Center through WCSD. I was accepted into a group internship and had the opportunity to learn about the different jobs and departments in the medical field. After learning about all the different departments, I concluded, that I wanted to work in pediat
