The scholarship program was established in 1998 to support underserved and underrepresented law students who have been admitted to Bay Area Law Schools. In twenty six years, we have awarded over 2 million dollars in scholarships to 110 students with scholarships that are generally $10,000 per year.
Scholarship Details
- Financial assistance for minority law students in the Bay Area
- Administered by the Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) of BASF
- Scholarships may be multi-year, with continued eligibility requirements
- Final scholarship decisions made by the first week of August
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be from a minority group underrepresented in the Bay Area legal community
- Must be attending an eligible law school in the Bay Area
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must maintain enrollment and good academic standing each semester
- Additional requirements may apply at the discretion of JDC and BASF
Application Process
- Confirm eligibility based on minority status, school enrollment, and financial need
- Prepare and submit the complete application packet with all required documents
- Submit the application for review
- Await final decision, which will be made by the first week of August
- Provide proof of enrollment, academic standing, and financial need each semester to receive scholarship funds
