The William & Lanaea C. Featherstone Foundation and Coppin State University announce a strategic partnership that will create economic and professional opportunities for students from underrepresented communities. Access to higher education is a powerful driver that creates opportunities for underrepresented communities to achieve economic stability.
Scholarship Details
- Seven $3,000 awards for the coming academic year at Coppin State University.
- Awards distributed across the College of Business, College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, College of Health Professions, and College of Behavioral Social Sciences.
- Focus on underrepresented communities, including international students, immigrants, racial minorities, and first-generation college students.
Eligibility Criteria
- Underrepresented communities: International students, immigrants, Hispanic/Latinx, or other racial minority groups.
- First-generation college students with economic challenges to higher education.
- High school seniors, transfer students, and current undergraduates or graduates at Coppin State University.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 and participation in extracurricular activities.
Application Process
- Complete the online application by March 15.
- Submit SAT/ACT scores (considered in the selection process).
- Provide essays outlining career goals and aspirations.
- Attend the award ceremony on August 9th at The University of Baltimore if selected.
Eight Coppin State students will receive $3,000 Awards. Students must be enrolled during the academic year of the year the scholarship is awarded. Award winners are expected to attend an award ceremony.
