My mom got pregnant at age 17 and my dad dropped out of high school to leave for the Navy. My dad decided to go back to school because he knew it was important, sadly he didn't finish any higher than his Associates of Arts. This is why I am applying for this scholarship because I am the first generation college student who seeks a higher education than my immediate family. This scholarship smells like opportunity and success!
