In order to qualify for or win any of the scholarships offered by Distinguished Young Women, you must participate in a program for your local area. This could include attending a rehearsal(s) and being a part of an on-stage performance.
Scholarship Details
- Nationwide program operates in all 50 states and Washington, DC.
- High school juniors or seniors may apply, depending on state program requirements.
- State representatives participate in the National Finals in Mobile, Alabama, after high school graduation.
- Comprehensive experience includes life skills development, community service, and on-stage performances.
- Scholarships available as cash tuition awards or through partnerships with over 100 colleges and universities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to high school junior and senior girls.
- Applicants must be legal residents of the county and state where they compete.
- Participants are evaluated on scholastic achievement, talent, fitness, public speaking, and interview skills.
Application Process
- Confirm eligibility as a high school junior or senior and ensure you meet residency requirements.
- Find and register for your state or local Distinguished Young Women program.
- Attend rehearsals and participate in an on-stage performance as part of the program.
- Prepare for the competition by showcasing talent, fitness, scholastic achievements, and public speaking skills.
- Compete at the local or state level for scholarship opportunities, with the chance to advance to the National Finals in Mobile, Alabama.
