The Ohio News Media Association High School Journalism Scholarship is offered to Ohio high school students who are graduating seniors interested in studying journalism, advertising, marketing or communications at an accredited college or university during the upcoming academic year. Eligible applicants must have at least a GPA of a 2.5. The following items must accompany the application form: an official transcript; a letter of recommendation; and a 500 – 750 word autobiography. The number of recipients will vary.
The Ohio News Media Foundation, in alignment with its mission of achieving the highest standards of excellence and professionalism in all phases of journalism and newspaper publishing, awards scholarships to high school and collegiate students annually. The foundation provides funding through a variety of events and donations to this fund. The Foundation’s mission is to achieve the highest standards of excellence and professionalism in journalism and newspaper publishing through research and educational activities.
