The scholarship is open to all Richmond and surrounding public school high school seniors. To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, a student must: Attend one of the Richmond or surrounding county public schools for at least a year; Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two or four-year college or university; and Graduate during the spring or summer of the year the scholarship is awarded. Finalists are selected on the basis of academic record, extra-curricular activities, and essay. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution and can be used for tuition, books, or other approved school related costs.
The Parker family scholarship was created as a legacy and tribute to members of the Parker family who have passed on, and to help further the dreams and aspirations of students in search of a college education. Education is something all of the Parkers strongly believed is one of the main keys to unlocking opportunities to a successful future. The scholarship will assist aspiring students from a Richmond City School, who have a financial need, and who desire to pursue a college education. The scholarship is a $1000 dollar non renewable scholarship. The number of scholarships given in any given year may be different.
