Scholarship Description

University of Texas-Arlington Presidential Scholars are selected from our highest academically achieving incoming freshmen. A UTA Presidential Honors Scholar will receive a $12,000 award annually; up to $48,000 over four years of eligibility. Every incoming freshman will receive a holistic review by the Scholarship Committee of their academic record for scholarship consideration. A variety of factors are considered using a combination of academic qualifications such as high school rank, GPA, test scores and difficulty of high school courses. Submission of an SAT or ACT test score is required to be considered for this scholarship.

This scholarship includes the non-resident waiver for students that are not residents of the State of Texas. This reduces the amount charged for tuition and fees to the level paid by in-state residents for up to four years if the student remains in good academic standing for the duration of the scholarship. The academic profile of a typical Presidential Honors Scholar will include a combination of the following, including a minimum 1500 SAT or 34 ACT. This is renewable upon maintaining a 3.0 GPA and full-time status (12 hours).
