Scholarship Description

The CBC Spouses Performing Arts Scholarship is for full-time Black scholars pursuing a degree in performing arts including, but not limited to, drama, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles.

Scholarship Details

  • Created to support students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degrees in performing arts
  • Includes fields such as drama, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles
  • Encourages leadership and community involvement
  • Awarded annually

Eligibility Criteria

  • Black or African American
  • U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • High school senior or enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be pursuing a degree in performing arts

Application Process

  1. Complete the online application by the deadline.
  2. Submit a video personal statement (maximum 3 minutes).
  3. Upload a video sample of your work (maximum 2 minutes) on the YouTube platform.
  4. Provide two letters of recommendation.
  5. Upload official transcripts directly into the Academic Works application portal.
  6. Submit a resume detailing work experience, extracurricular activities, honors, community service, and special skills.
  7. Upload a recent professional-quality photograph suitable for publication.
