Scholarship Description

The Pedro Zamora Young Leaders Scholarship will be awarding another twenty-five $5,000 scholarships this year. Awardees will be notified by end of day, August 3st. These $5,000 scholarships support those who are working toward and committed to making a difference in the fight against HIV/AIDS and/or advancing health, racial, and social justice.

  • Over $600,000 awarded to 154 scholars since 2009
  • Generously supported by Gilead Sciences and other partners

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to current or incoming undergraduate students (27 and younger)
  • Enrolled in a U.S. community college or four-year university
  • Engaged in health and social justice activism, beyond just HIV/AIDS

Application Process

  2. Apply as a current or incoming undergraduate student in the U.S.
  3. Submit your application highlighting your activism and aspirations

HIV/AIDS is a disease that intersects with social justice issues, such as discrimination, economic inequality, and human rights. Social justice initiatives can help fight HIV/AIDS by addressing these issues and improving access to healthcare. Therefore, our scholarship is not exclusive to HIV/AIDS work and activism.
