The Chancellor’s Blue and Gold Scholarship Program began in 1998 to recognize the academic achievements of first-year students coming from LA County High Schools that traditionally have sent few students to UCLA.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarship awards up to $5,000 based on financial need
- Approximately 200 students supported annually
- Open to first-year students from qualifying Los Angeles County high schools
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a first-year student from a Los Angeles County high school traditionally sending few students to UCLA
- Demonstrated financial need, as determined by FAFSA or California Dream Act application
Student Obligations
- Submit the FAFSA or California Dream Act application each year by the March 2 deadline
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as defined by UCLA Financial Aid and Scholarships
- Notify UCLA Financial Aid and Scholarships of any changes in family financial circumstances
- If the financial aid deadline is missed, complete the Late Financial Aid application and submit an appeal for scholarship reinstatement
The Chancellor’s Blue and Gold Scholarship offers financial support and recognizes the achievements of talented students from underrepresented LA County high schools.After many continuous successful years of excellence, the program now supports about 200 students with awards ranging up to $5,000, depending on the student’s financial need.
