HumaneVMA is pleased to offer the Compassionate Care Scholarships for Veterinary Students. Five $10,000 scholarships will be awarded to veterinary students who are currently in their first, second or third years at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school in the US, Canada, UK or the Caribbean.
Scholarship Details
- Award Amount: $10,000 per scholarship
- Number of Scholarships: 5
- Eligibility: First-, second-, or third-year veterinary students
- Eligible Institutions: AVMA-accredited veterinary schools in the US, Canada, UK, or the Caribbean
- Deadline: June 30th
- Notification Date: By August 31st
Eligibility Criteria
- Currently enrolled as a first-year, second-year, or third-year veterinary student
- Attending an AVMA-accredited veterinary school in the US, Canada, UK, or the Caribbean
Application Process
- Complete the online application form
- Upload a veterinary school transcript
- Submit two letters of recommendation (at least one from a faculty member or clinician)
- Write and upload a statement of intent highlighting your commitment to animal welfare and equitable access to care
- Provide financial information detailing anticipated debt burden
- Download and complete the provided Excel sheet to list professional and volunteer activities, then upload the completed file
- Submit the application by the deadline of June 30th
These scholarships honor students who exhibit a profound commitment to animal welfare and demonstrate dedication to expanding equitable access and inclusion within veterinary medicine. The awardees contribute to our initiative to create a more sustainable, humane world for all animals from within the veterinary field.
