Local Media Consortium has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to pursue a degree in Journalism or Media at a four-year college or university.
Eligibility
- High school senior or graduate or a current college undergraduate
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism or Media
- Admitted to or enrolled in a four-year college or university
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in a full-time course of study.
Application
- Submit documents sharing your involvement in school and community activities.
- Include achievements and relevant work experiences.
- Share your aspirations and vision for your future in journalism or media.
- Describe any unusual personal or family circumstances that make you stand out.
- Include an external reference to strengthen your application.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to five awards will be granted. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale) in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Local Media Consortium.
