The Lagman Foundation is dedicated to empowering a diverse and resilient generation of high school students who have triumphed over adversity, contributed to their communities, and are committed to transforming their lives through academic or creative pursuits. The foundation, through its Second Chances Fund, seeks to recognize and support high school seniors who have faced challenges and demonstrated remarkable resilience in redirecting their life paths. Awardees of the Second Chances Fund receive scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500.

The Lagman Foundation Second Chances Fund Scholarship aims to assist students in overcoming obstacles and pursuing their educational and personal aspirations. Key details include:

  • Scholarship Amount: Awardees receive scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500.
  • Application Period: Applications are accepted from September 1st to November 30th annually.
  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Current High School Senior: The applicant must be a current high school senior.
    • Nomination/Recommendation: A nomination or recommendation is required from a teacher, counselor, caseworker, or any unrelated adult familiar with the applicant's character, commitment to academic or creative interests, involvement in social justice or community activities, and the significant challenges they have overcome.
    • Overcoming Adversity: Applicants should exhibit progress in overcoming adversity.
    • Participation: Demonstrate active participation in school activities, community organizations, employment, and/or service leadership.
    • Graduation: Plan to graduate by July of their currently scheduled graduation date as of the scholarship award date.
    • Post-Graduation Plans: Intend to attend a college, university, vocational school, or continuing education program after graduation.

    Application Process:
