The SC Tuition Grants Program is administered by the SC Higher Education Tuition Grants Commission through an annual appropriation by the State General Assembly. The program's purpose is to provide need-based grant assistance to eligible South Carolina students obtaining an initial undergraduate degree who are attending, on a full time basis, eligible independent non-profit in-state colleges. Dollar amounts for the scholarship will vary.
Eligible applicants must: be South Carolina residents; attend eligible institutions; be either in the top 75% of their graduating class or have an ACT of 19 or an SAT of 900; have a high school GPA of 2.7; and, be enrolled in at least 12 credits. Applications are available beginning October 1st of the year prior to your Fall enrollment. Apply as early as possible. The deadline for receipt of applications is June 30th. All eligible applications received by the federal processor by the June 30th deadline will be eligible for funding, assuming all other eligibility criteria are met.
