  • Scholarship Description
  • ACS awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields. African American, Hispanic, Pacific Islander (excluding Asian) or American Indian high school seniors or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology are eligible to apply. Seniors can apply for their fifth year.

    Eligible applicants must: be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident; demonstrate high academic achievement in chemistry or science (Grade Point Average 3.0, "B" or better); and, demonstrate financial need according to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form (FAFSA) and the Student Aid Report (SAR) form. Please note that students intending to enter Pre-Med programs or pursuing a degree in Pharmacy are not eligible for this scholarship. Recipients are notified by May 15.

Hello, my name is Karla Q and I am majoring in nursing. The reason that I want this scholarship is because I've already seen my parents struggle enough for me and my life and I do not want to see that no more. They have always been working hard for me and my family. I have been wanting to major in nursing to become a OBGYN. Ever since I was in fifth grade I knew that I wanted to become an OBGYN. Knowing that I will be helping women and being there for when a women gives worth is something that I want to help in and major in. I am currently finishing my internship for my Medical Assisting Certificate and plan to keep on studying.

I want to become an pharmacist because my mom is nurse and I seen all the medicine my grandma has take and I want to be able to help her, with anything she needs help with dealing with that .

Hello, My name is Mercy osifo, from Bridgewater states University as a Chemistry major. I am currently a freshmen who want to pursue her goals of becoming a cardiology because I want to save lives. I really need this money because my family financial status is very low and with the help of this scholarship I will still have hope that I can get to my goals.
