Scholarship Description

The Mercatus Joseph Schumpeter Fellowship is offered to undergraduate students at George Mason University who are interested in learning more about political economy. This is open to both full-time and part-time students. This award includes a $1,000 stipend and advice on research, jobs and graduate school. Mercatus Joseph Schumpeter Fellows have an opportunity to study foundational writings in political economy from several notable economists.

The online application includes: a current resume; a current George Mason University transcript (unofficial copies are acceptable); a few short answer questions; and a 1-2 page cover letter (explaining: your undergraduate school career to date; your future academic and/or professional plans; why you are interested in studying key ideas in political economy; and what you hope to get out of the program.). The Mercatus Center is a research center at George Mason University that advances knowledge about how markets solve problems and help us lead happier, healthier, and richer lives.
