I am currently applying for this scholarship because my family and I are in need for financial assistance for college. I have a 4.0 GPA and would also love to play basketball in college. I know my three younger siblings will also be attending college and I would hate for my debt to discourage them, or for them and my parents to suffer just for me to get a good education. My dreams and goals are big, and I am willing to put in the work, I just need a little assistance with college funds. I hope to go into pre-med to eventually make it to a pediatric doctor, or to become a nurse for children. I am applying for this scholarship because I feel it is a great opportunity and I want to help my parents as I am the first of 4 children who will be attending college.

Why should students break their backs drowning in debt? Why should this be a problem for an education? I am also a struggling student with big dreams as any other; but my dream includes finding a way to help decrease scholarship needs all over the country. I plan to use my college to help the communities around the world achieve stability and opportunity towards higher education.

I am a sophomore in college and I am applying for this scholarship because I need help with financial assistance for college. I am pursuing a career in criminal justice and my goal is work in forensics

Anisa Q  on 3/14/2020 2:40:02 AM

I am interested in applying for this scholarship because I need assistance with college funds. My parents are very hardworking, but will really require a lot of help to send me to college. I am very hardworking and over the years have studied very hard to reach the goal to go to college. When I was in third grade, I won the opportunity to attend a private school every summer, free of charge, until I was in high school. I learned so much attending the exclusive private schools. Even at the early age of 8, I knew that I would graduate high school and move on to attend college to allow me to study Forensic Science which is my number one true passion. With my tenacity and my thirst for finding answers, I will be a benefit to society as a great Forensic Scientist.

I am applying for this scholarship to help me reach my college goals. I am being raised by a single mother that doesn't have the means to help me through college, I applied at UNLV for the Engineering program to get my BS in Mechanical Engineering all while at the same time i'll be in the Reserves and after I get my BS I will go for my Masters in Nuclear Engineering then will be going into the Navy as an officer in the Navy as a Nuclear Engineer to serve my country. I would be the first male on my fathers side to go to college.

Yaseen J  on 3/12/2020 2:45:57 PM

I am applying for the scholarship to help fund my college education. I come from a single parent home, where my mom is the sole provider for my sister and I. I will be the first male in my family to graduate from high school, let alone get accepted into a university. My mom is not able to pay for any of my college education or get loans on my behalf, so I am hoping I can get some help in the form of scholarships. My end goal is to obtain my J.D. and pass the bar examination so I can act as leader and advocate for people in need. I want to advocate for children and people unjustly accused of crimes.

I am applying for this scholarship because I am pursuing a career that will require a medical background. I am currently a Freshman at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry. I work part-time for a nonprofit organization called New York Edge/SASF. I work as a counselor for IEP students. They come into the program after school with many challenges both physical and mental. As a counselor, I am there to offer a safe space and coping skills. This job has propelled me to become a Behavior Therapist for young adults.

Owen P  on 3/9/2020 8:53:25 PM

I will be a freshman playing football at Butler University next fall, I was a team captain of my high school football team and plan to continue developing my leadership skills in college. I am an elementary education major and with teaching hope to continue my passion for football by coaching a high school team. As much as I want to go, my parents have little to no money for me and only have an academic scholarship so far, but with a 23 ACT and 3.6 GPA that is not looking like it will be enough.

Mica B  on 3/7/2020 8:13:18 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I have a large passion for what I intend to major in, but would not be able to go to a university without some extra aid. My parents recently divorced and my father refused to pay any bills, and as the case was uncontested and I am nearly 18, fighting him for it seemed impossible and irresponsible as it may damage the relationship further. This leaves my mother a single parent and my income regularly helps pay for groceries and other bills. This scholarship would allow me to go to university and pursue my dreams of becoming a counselor to help people of all ages come into their better selves. This passion comes from a quote I read once: "be the person you needed when you were younger." This stuck by me and has been my inspiration and encouragement to work hard every day, which can be seen in my transcript and my person. I was able to balance extracurriculars, as many advanced courses as I was interested in taking, and maintain my high class rank. Academically, I know I will excell in college, the only thing holding me back is the financial burden it would place on my mother. So, in all honesty, I am applying for this scholarship for my mother. I want her to know my future is secure and that I will be able to chase my dreams. I want her to never have to worry about me holding myself back for her benefit. While this will benefit me the most, the emotional security and relief this would bring her is immense. It's more important than any education I would be using it for.

Sarah D  on 3/5/2020 12:50:10 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I am pursuing a career that requires medical school, and I am solely responsible for paying for my college education. I don't want student debt to stop me from pursuing psychiatry. I'm not receiving any assistance, and any amount of money for school would be greatly appreciated.

Dayne L  on 3/3/2020 4:31:54 PM

My father is a single father who works in law enforcement, and my mother is remarried, but my stepfather is in a wheelchair. I plan to pursue a degree in Nursing at Mississippi State University. Any form of money for school would be greatly appreciated.

I have dyslexia and am paying for college on my own. I have to spend hours studing each night and it can be hard for me to balance my part time job. This scholarship would help me out so much!

I plan to go to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and study there for 4 or more years to gain the degrees I need to succeed in my life. After undergraduate school, I plan to go back to graduate school at Ohio University.

Craig W  on 6/4/2019 8:50:30 PM

My dream is to be a computer engineer, and some day come back so I can volunteer my time with YMCA or any boys and girl club that will allow me to come and share my knowledge, skills in computer engineering with the youth, so they too would want to go to school and make something of their life. This would also be a blessing for for my mom, this would not only help her with my tuition fees it would also be a a lot help to me, not having to find a job my freshman, to help my mother pay for college.
