The GFWC WCSC Scholarship Fund helps Washington County women in need become self-sufficient through the pursuit of a degree or by obtaining credentials for practicing a vocation.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarship amounts range from hundreds to thousands of dollars
- Funds are distributed directly to the educational institution for tuition costs only
- Preference is given to motivated women seeking further education or training to achieve self-sufficiency
- Applications open annually on November 1
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a woman aged 19 or older at the time of application, with a high school diploma or GED
- Must be a resident of Washington County, Rhode Island
- Must exhibit financial need
- Must be enrolled in or accepted into a career/vocational training program, certificate program, or first degree program (associate or bachelor's)
- Must demonstrate motivation to achieve educational and career goals
- Dependents may include children, spouse, partner, siblings, and/or parents
Application Process
- Complete the online application starting November 1st
- Email completed applications or questions to GFWC
- Provide documentation of financial need and enrollment or acceptance into an eligible program
For a quarter of a century, the Club each year has awarded scholarships ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars to selected applicants. All funds are distributed directly to the educational institution for tuition costs only.
