The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship is a merit-based program recognizing the most academically talented high school seniors and encouraging these students to attend college in the state. Palmetto Fellows may receive up to $6,700 their freshman year and up to $7,500 for their sophomore, junior and senior years.
Scholarship Details
- Annual scholarship amounts: $6,700 for freshmen; $7,500 for sophomores, juniors, and seniors
- Funds are distributed half in the fall term and half in the spring term
- Maximum of eight full-time terms of funding for a first bachelor’s degree
- Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Enhancement provides up to $10,000 annually for eligible math and science majors beginning sophomore year
- Enhancement funding available for up to six full-time terms
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a high school senior demonstrating outstanding academic achievement
- Enroll full-time at an eligible four-year institution in South Carolina
- Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Enhancement eligibility:
- Declare a major in an approved math or science program
- Complete at least 14 credit hours in mathematics, life sciences, physical sciences, or a combination thereof by the end of the first academic year
Application Process
- High school guidance counselors nominate eligible students for the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship
- Complete and submit the application as directed by your school counselor
- After enrollment in college, declare an approved math or science major to qualify for the scholarship enhancement
- Meet academic progress requirements to continue receiving the scholarship
