Scholarship Description

The PHN Charitable Foundation (PHNCF) is committed to investing in the future of human healthcare by providing financial support to students pursuing careers in healthcare, allied health, behavioral/mental health, and dental care. Each year, PHNCF awards $30,000 in academic scholarships to students who are college-bound or currently enrolled in a public college, private college, or vocational school. Recipients of this scholarship have gone on to successful careers in healthcare, including roles as doctors, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, medical billing specialists, and more.

Scholarship Details

  • Total scholarship fund of $30,000 awarded annually
  • Open to students pursuing careers in human healthcare, allied health, behavioral/mental health, and dental care
  • Available to both college-bound and currently enrolled students at public or private colleges and vocational schools
  • Supports students planning careers in various healthcare fields, including medical, dental, and administrative roles

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be pursuing a career in human healthcare, allied health, behavioral/mental health, or dental care
  • Must be enrolled in a qualifying course of study for the coming academic year (Undecided majors are not eligible)
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (unofficial transcripts with name, school logo, and GPA clearly visible are accepted)
  • Must reside in a county served by Primary Health Network in Pennsylvania or Ohio

Application Process

  1. Review the mission, values, and programs of PHN and PHNCF
  2. Write a 550-600 word essay explaining how your education, goals, and ideals align with PHN and PHNCF to advance community health and wellness
  3. Avoid including personal details (name, address, phone number, or names of individuals) in the essay
  4. Submit an unofficial transcript (PDF format preferred) that includes your name, school name/logo, and GPA
  5. Ensure all application materials are submitted before the deadline
