The Robert J. Frankel Scholarship is available to a student attending a college or university in California or New York state, pursuing any field of study, whose family is employed in the Thoroughbred industry. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be 24 years old or younger as of September 1st; have at least a 2.85 GPA and have an annual household income of less than $75,000 or be financially independent from parents. This scholarship will benefit a deserving student through a partnership between The Race For Education and the Robert J. Frankel family trust.
Besides completing the application, applicants must also submit: a current official transcript; a resume, a Student Aid Report; and two signed letters of recommendation. If applicants have not received their Student Aid Report, they must either submit their parent/guardian's previous year’s tax return and current year’s W2 form or the current year's tax return. Do not physically send the scholarship application to the Foundation's office- everything must be done online.
