Mr. Edward C. Tang established this award in 2007 to provide financial assistance to LGBTQ+ Asian and Pacific Islanders (API) for post-secondary Education.
Scholarship Details

Eligibility
- Asian/Pacific Islander heritage
- Member of the LGBTQ+ community
- Involved in the LGBTQ+ community
- Graduating high school senior or high school graduate
- California Bay Area resident (Almeda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, Sonoma, Solano)
- Demonstrated financial need
- 17-25 years of age upon the application deadline
Application Process
- Gather required documents, including a personal statement, letters of regerence, transcripts, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency, and financial documentation.
- Complete the application well in advance of the April 30th deadline; late applications, including those postmarked before the due date but received afterwards, will not be considered.
- Confirm that the scholarship manager has received your complete application prior to the April 30th deadline.
These scholarships are renewable for a maximum of three more years (a total of four years) provided each student annually meets the renewal requirements.
