Scholarship Description

The NBCC Foundation is excited to announce the availability of rural scholarships for students pursuing a career in professional counseling. These scholarships aim to increase the number of counselors serving people in rural areas. The program provides financial support to students currently enrolled in a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited counseling master’s program.

Scholarship Details:

• Up to five scholarships are available, each valued at $8,000. • The scholarship is open to students enrolled full time in a CACREP-accredited counseling master’s program. • Recipients commit to serving rural populations within one year of graduation for a minimum of two years post-graduation.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be enrolled full time in a CACREP-accredited counseling master’s program. • Reside in a rural area defined by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). • Currently enrolled full time for the upcoming spring semester. • In good standing in a CACREP-accredited counseling master’s-level program. • Have taken courses during the current fall semester, with no pending, deferred, or other future start date for coursework.
