The North Valley Health Education Foundation educates people about health-related issues and financially supports students involved in the health sciences. Students enrolled in health professions at a community college, four-year college nursing program, medical school, and paramedic program at eligible schools are eligible to apply for scholarships. Scholarship applications are available January 1st through May 1st annually since 1975.
The NVHEF proudly gives scholarships to students who have an intention of returning to Northern California. Preference is given to any student who has graduated from a high school in the following counties: Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Yolo, & Yuba. In the past, the NVHEF has maintained and expanded several health-oriented programs. Through health fairs, speakers and other activities, we educated the public about their own health so they can lead longer and healthier lives. NVHEF are the leaders in establishing a fund to provide medical equipment to home-bound patients with limited funds. They've also began Kids on the Block, a puppet program that taught school-aged children about children with disabilities.
