  • Scholarship Description
  • Courageous Persuaders is a peer-to-peer national scholarship competition that invites high school students in grades 9-12 to create a 30-second commercial to warn middle school students about the dangers of underage drinking and the dangers of texting while driving. High school students can enter separate videos in both categories. The program was built upon the premise that high school students have a tremendous influence on younger middle school peers, and with constructive messages, can positively impact decisions and potentially even save lives. This is an amazing program. I am thankful enough to be apart of a high school with a film program and normally my film teacher makes this an assignment for underclassmen and a number of our students have been finalists for this! It is truly something that has to be talked about and spread among the younger audience more!

This scholarship is providing a great way to bring the best out of film creators to express the importance of staying sober. My goal one day would be to create promos and PSA’s to fight against underaged drinking.

Remembering 9/11

September 11, 2020

by Izzy Hall

Today marks the 19th anniversary of the devastating September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States of America. We honor those who lost their lives in the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, as well as the first responders who gave their lives rescuing survivors, and the passengers of Flight 93 who thwarted the hijacker’s plans. The events of September 11, 2001 touched the lives of all Americans and redefined a generation. Now, even in the midst of another national crisis, we feel it is appropriate to take the time to remember this tragedy. [...]
