As part of the Delaware Department of Education, the Delaware Higher Education Office works to ensure that postsecondary education is accessible and affordable for Delaware residents by providing information and financial assistance to students and their families. We administer 14 state-sponsored financial aid programs, which include grants, scholarships and professional incentive programs. One of the awards offered is called the Educator Support Scholarship.
The Educator Support Scholarship is for full-time graduate or undergraduate students attending a Delaware public or private college who intend to pursue a career in education (in a classroom or as a specialist) in specific certifications identified as areas of need in Delaware schools. Teacher shortage areas and specialist areas may vary year by year. The award is not renewable but recipients may re-apply each year. The total number of recipients will vary.
