I've been bullied on multiple occasions and I know what it can do do a persons self-esteem and how it effects their everyday life. I want to stop cyberbullying everywhere, so kids don't have to go through what I went through.
Hope C on 1/28/2021 10:42:59 AM
I am applying for this scholarship because bullying is an awful thing. It shouldn't occur as regularly as it does. It makes things like social media toxic. The thought of kids being made of fun is awful! I want to stop it.

I am applying for this scholarship because during these hard times my family has struggled in many different ways as well as others have. My life has never been easy growing up. My dad being deployed two times, my brother being a drug addict, having 19 brain surgeries with a 7% chance of living, and this endless cycle of abuse in my family for generations have taken a toll on my life. During those hard times, I was bullied for trying to be positive about my situation and how I looked. I was bullied since I was 6 all the way to 18 years old. I never told my family because my sister was also bullied and we were all going through a lot so I thought they did need that stress added onto them. I put all my pain into school and got out of special needs when the doctor said I would have the mindset of a 7-year-old. At school, I would get hit, but to be honest, the worst was when they made you feel more alone than you already did because you were an outcast.

I am applying because I had my fair share of bullying and saw other people get bullied too. I understand what its like. I want to stop bullying and lend a helping hand to those who are being bullied especially on social media.

Cyber bullying and bullying in genral is far too normalized in today's society. I am applying to this scholorship because I firmly believe that Anti-bullying awareness needs to be more vocalized and needs to be spread around. I want social media to become a happier and a safer place for people and less of such a toxic environemnt.
Cade Chalk on 1/22/2021 9:30:58 AM
I believe that if everyone works together we can work together to end bullying.
MiDahlia D. on 1/21/2021 1:33:06 PM
I am applying for this scholarship because I've been through this and want to spread awareness. Social media has a big effect on cyberbullying today, and knowing that I can make some type of change will make me happy and let other's know they're not alone and we can fight together to stop the spread of it.

I am applying for this scholarship because personally I have dealt with this issue and have seen a friend or loved one go through cyber-bullying and I feel like I can help this cause of getting rid of cyber-bullying and also provide emotional support to victims of cyber-bullying

I am applying for this scholarship due to having experience with bullying and understanding the effects. I am passionate about stopping cyberbullying so that social media wont be such a negative and toxic space.
Tony A. on 12/25/2020 4:10:14 AM
Anti-bully awareness has always been a passion of mine. I think it's important for everyone to know how bullying affects us all. This is the main reason I'm applying for this scholarship.

I believe in advocating and speaking freely, it is a bonus that there are scholarships available that believe the same thing. I am honored to apply for this scholarship and I hope that they are able to raise awareness about this important topic.
Kaylee D on 12/22/2020 10:33:08 PM
I think its important to stop cyberbullying, no one should have to feel unsafe online!
Gisell L on 12/10/2020 1:17:12 PM
I applied to this scholarship because it was something i personally relate to and i have no issue discussing the topic and its important for people to know that cyberbullying or bullying in general is never okay and when talking about it during my essay i explained a lot towards how it effected me as a person and i feel like most people don't realize how often that can happen. We need to stop and think about our own actions. we need to stop hating on each other, it'll get us no where in life. I had the chance to apply and spread my thoughts/awareness so i took it.
Tylec'e B. on 11/30/2020 5:52:53 PM
cyberbullying ruining everyone's life i was once caught up in one. cyberbullying can cause more damage than in person bullying i say this because your on the internet which mean people you don't even know across the world can bully you and repost you so now your worldwide not just in school. overall we have to stop bullying period because it causes many things.(suicide , eating /drinking habits, smoking /taking drugs/pills, and it can make one self conscious and fell unwanted. so we should stop this because it can put someones life in danger
Jada m on 11/24/2020 5:45:47 PM
i have applied for this scholarship mostly because this is something that im very interesting to write about and also i can relate to cyber bullying because i was a victim to it in middle
Gabriela H on 11/23/2020 10:43:52 AM
Cyberbullying should not be considered something we do nothing about. No type of bullying should be tolerated. There are thousands of lives that won´t ever be the same because of the affect cyberbullying has brought to them. We need to be the change we want to see and help to stop cyberbullying, and bullying in general.
Joshua A. on 11/22/2020 11:06:58 PM
The main reason why I do not support bullying is because of the number of suicides every year due to people getting bullied. I feel very sad and very sorry to hear about anyone committing suicide. Especially that no one knows what that person has been going through. Bullying is never the answer. Suicide is not a joke. There are people out there like suicide hotline, counselors, your doctors, etc. as well as your loved ones can help, and always be there for you though thick and thin. No matter what you have been going through in life, BE STRONG! Suicide is never the answer.
Zoey R. on 11/16/2020 1:12:34 PM
I applied for this scholarship because it focuses on a very important topic that needs to be stopped. I have not been a victim of cyberbullying, but I’ve seen it happen in my school and on social media platforms that I use. Some people think to themselves “oh it’s just cyber bullying and it can’t hurt anybody” but let’s look at some of the facts - 95% of teens in the U.S. are online and/or have access to the internet on their mobile devices which makes it more common for cyber bullying, about 37% of young people between the ages of 12 and 17 have been cyber bullied, 30% have had it happen more than once. Even though I haven’t been a victim, I have had friends, classmates and family members who have been and the harm caused is major. I worry about my younger siblings who are online more and more every day. Words hurt and we have to find ways to stop bullying of all types, including cyberbullying.
Emily E on 9/17/2020 6:36:49 PM
Cyberbullying affected my life for my entire middle school life. I always felt obligated to see what people had to say about me, that if I didn't look, I would be even more worried about the nasty things coming my way. I felt so disgusted with myself because that was what everyone else was saying about me. I was obviously young, and I had also just moved to the state when I started middle school. I felt stuck, because if I didn't go to school, everything was behind my back, but if I did, it was almost all to my face. I couldn't decide which was worse. Since being a freshman, however, I've stood between bullies and their victims both online and at school to be certain that no one feels alone and afraid to walk two steps without being attacked.
Makayla N on 8/2/2020 5:59:55 PM
Cyberbullying is close to me because I am a victim of bullying and it is important for me to stand up for others so they don't feel the way Ive felt before.

I replied for this scholarship because I personally have been victim of cyberbullying when was in high school. It was very depressing time of my life which made my high school year pretty bad.

This scholarship is an opportunity to help in addressing the ongoing problems that social media users encounter at a daily basis.

I understands the importance of spreading awareness to avoid and end cyber bullying as many teenagers go through this horrible experience.
Samantha F. on 7/1/2020 5:31:35 PM
cyberbullying is at an all-time rise in today’s society. So many kids and teens are now more than ever using social media as a platform to connect to people just like them. But, as social media becomes bigger and bigger there is a conversation that is always brought up and that is how to handle the constant mean and rude comments posted on people’s pages that can affect people’s mental health.
Hayden T. on 6/30/2020 4:30:01 PM
This Topic is a needed one to talk about since right now kids a very close to social media due to corona virus and cyber bullying is much more frequent.

The endless possibilities to roam freely upon any path I want in life. The freedom to shape who I’ll become.
Lena T on 6/29/2020 2:33:07 PM
I’ve been bullied before and I don’t want anyone to go through that. It makes people feel, that they don’t belong here. They feel misplaced. Lost. I’d like this scholarship to spread awareness. Children have died, because they feel like they should be gone. Children has been scarred for life and has mental problems. Nobody should ever feel scared to go somewhere because of someone. This is a home to all children. We shouldn’t be bullied by the tone of our body, the shape of our eyes, the imperfections that we were born with. We are all beautiful! I spread positivity at my school and I love how I see their faces lit up. So let’s come together to light up ones day with positivity!
Raven M on 6/29/2020 11:59:20 AM
I think this is a great scholarship because it focuses on a topic that is very prevalent right now. Social media keeps growing, and the more it grows the more cyberbullying takes place. As someone who has been a victim of cyberbullying I know how terrible it feels to have it happen to you. You never know what someone is going through, so to say something hurtful to a person can push them to the brink of how long they can hold on without breaking. Cyber bullying is unnecessary, and everyone might not agree or like something that someone has posted, but just leave the thought in your head instead of saying something to try to break a person down.
Kassandra Trejo on 6/29/2020 5:27:34 AM
I am applying to this scholarship because I don’t believe in any kind of bullying being okay. I remember when I was younger I considered my bullies my best friends because I was so young and naive. I had also barely moved so I didn’t have many people to talk to. However that is not the only reason I am applying for this scholarship, I currently have a 3 month child at only 17 years old and I want to prove people wrong about the stereotypical young mom dropping out of high school and never entering college. I have so far graduated a year early from high school and am planning to be a doctor. While I know college is expensive, I hope this scholarship will give me the opportunity to afford college.
Melissa J on 6/25/2020 8:42:56 PM
I applied for this scholarship to not just get a chance to hopefully get it but to also help change the fact that there are people that have to go through cyberbullying. People in every body has an amazing way on who they are and they don’t need to be told on what they look like or how they act, it’s just how it makes them, them! And no one should be disappointed on how they are.
Melissa J on 6/25/2020 8:52:16 AM

Athough this has been occuring for years, I believe that with what is going on in the world today like the murders of innocent black lives (George Floyd and many others), racism can slowly be stopped and stopping cyber bullying can be a small step towards this. It will take time but something small like keeping a negative comment to yourself instead of letting others feel down can bring us closer together one step at a time. It is important that this topic is discussed.
Jailah C on 6/23/2020 3:57:26 PM
This scholarship stands out to me because everyday I see someone getting bullied at school or harassed online. Many parents have lost their children due to cyber bullying. It is important to me to eliminate cyber bullying. I know it’s not an overnight job, however, it is a job that can get done.
Kennedi F on 6/21/2020 6:27:32 PM
Not everyone has been a bully or the victim of bullies, but everyone has seen bullying, and seeing it, has responded to it by joining in or objecting, by laughing or keeping silent, by feeling disgusted or feeling interested. I feel like the world should be more educated on bullying, the different aspects of it, and the effects it has on the bully and bully victim. Society has normalized bullying so much that when people see it especially kids they find it ok in a way and they try to justify it as much as possible. I've been a victim and also witnessed bullying and I can say neither is a comfortable position to be in. From a witness stand point you know it isn't right but your too afraid to speak up because your scared of what other kids would perceive you as and that you too may become a victim yourself. Also being an actual victim is much more scarier because you think if you speak up then nobody will like you or you'll be bullied even more. I was afraid that nobody would really do anything about it and that it would continue on. Experiencing those moments I can teach my future children what to do and what not to do; also what's right and what's wrong in these situations.

This scholarship is close at heart with me because i see people around my school constsntly getting put down for their beleifs and the things they like and support. I wish to help stop this because i see how detremental it coud be to a child or anybody in the African American Culture.
Rosario E on 6/17/2020 10:32:08 AM
yes I applied for this scholarship because this is a huge problem across the globe that needs to be addressed and fixed immediately. I know certain individuals who have been victims of this and some who were so strongly affected that took their life due to cyberbullying actions.
Shelby M on 6/14/2020 7:26:35 PM
I'm applying for this scholarship because i have been the victim of cyber bullying. No one realizes how much it really impacts someone until it happens to you. This has become way too common for young people to experience. No one should be able to hide behind a computer screen.
Tanya S. on 6/11/2020 12:44:48 PM
I am applying for this scholarship because I have seen with my own eyes the impacts of cyber bullying and the deteriorating effects on people. I would never wish this to anyone, not even my worst enemies, because just because somebody finds putting others down to be funny or witty, it does not mean the person receiving the bullying finds its funny, and deep down breaks them down. Especially in this day and age, where people can easily hide behind a screen and say mean things, but would never in person, it is important to delete bullying and spread positive energy to everybody; like I said people can hide behind a screen the same way people can use a smile to hide their pain. Therefore, by applying for this scholarship it is my part on reducing the amount of pain and suffering one feels from cyber bullying.
Ashton B. on 6/11/2020 11:21:06 AM
This scholarship really hits home to me because I was bullied a lot in school. No matter what age I was, it was like it never ended. I was bullied in class, viewed as a sexual object, and bullied online. A few of my stories include me being stabbed by a handful of pencils for a reason I still do not know of today, and I am 19 years old and this happened when I was 7. Another story included that a girl got the entire 5th grade class to hate me by spreading false statements about me. Middle school was the worst years of my life, however. I was jumped by my bus stop for no reason at all, and three girls attacked me because I was “weak”. I was called “flat” and a “whore” when I hadn’t even had my first boyfriend yet. In high school is when technology really played a role in our lives, and everyone gossiped about me on snapchat, and made comments on my instagram about my boyfriend and I and how he looks “too old” for me when he was only a grade above me. I was also viewed as this object and every guy tried touching me in class because they thought it was “funny”. Now in college, it’s different. People are here for their careers not because the state told them to. I am also in college because I did not allow the bullying to put me down and give up, it brought me back up, and gave me motivation to show everyone just how successful I can be. I am applying for this application because it does relate so well to me, and I hope that I am considered for a scholarship.
Karen R on 6/4/2020 6:20:27 PM
I have been cyberbullied before, so this scholarship means a lot to me. It is despicable that people think they can hide behind a screen to hate on others. It's not okay and it's a serious problem that needs more attention.
Dominique D. on 6/1/2020 3:37:53 PM
Although I have not been a victim of cyber bullying I have witnessed it and it has upset me greatly. It's wrong to sit behind a computer and say mean, degrading, hurtful things. Words hurt no matter rather you see them or hear them. The world is hard enough, life is hard enough and having to deal with bullying of any kind is wrong.
Genesis M. on 6/1/2020 2:18:18 PM
Cyberbullying. One of the worst things to be brought upon the use of technology. I don’t understand why people cyberbully. Why do we bully at all to be honest. It’s wrong to cyberbully or to do any type of bullying for that matter. We sit and try to tear each other down, but we need to build each other up. We are all people meaning we all are the same. No matter by the color of our skin or by the race we were put into. This cyberbullying, just bullying in general needs to stop. They say it’s all fun in games, but when will the games stop? It’s all fun in games until we lose someone to depression and commits suicide. Then it won’t be a joke anymore, because YOU were the cause of this. Because CYBERBULLYING was the cause of this. Stop cyberbullying. Stop the bullying. Stop violence. And I hope this speak for those who hide in the darkness of depression, for those who feel that they have no voice, for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves or others. Let your voice be heard. End cyberbullying now!
Amaya Hall on 5/26/2020 4:42:37 PM
This scholarship topic is one all familiar to me. My best friend from Kindergarten begin to date this guy during her 9th grade year. She became sexual with him. She fell in love with him, but he had other plans in mind. During their sexual intercourse, he talk her in to allowing him to record her giving him head as well as pictures of her nude body. When she told me, I tried to convinced her to report this to her parents. During her 10th grade year, he begin to share her photos and video around school. My best friend became very depressed, she started cutting herself. Yes, I know all to well about cyber bullying. Her peers began to call her names, as her Bestfriend I defended her and even got suspended because of it. It didn’t matter about being suspended, she was my best friend, she hurt I hurt. As the bullying continued, she became more and more depressed. I had to tell someone, but before I could involve her parents, my best friend committed suicide just before our junior year. I am still grieving for my best friend. At that time, I decided to changed my major from computer engineer to criminal justice with a minor in cyber security to crack down in cyber bullying and to make sure no other teenager has to go through what my best friend went through.
Angelina Diaz on 5/15/2020 11:21:30 AM
This topic is not just a topic but at one point it was my life. Cyberbullying is a cruel thing to do if you were doing it. I applied for this scholarship because I want my voice to be heard so that this won't happen again. So I don't look on the new and see that another kid has taken their life due to another kid being so cruel. I want to be heard and I want to help make a difference in all of this cruelty. Sometimes you have to help others before you help yourself so that it won't be a continuous action.
Esmeralda C. on 5/9/2020 4:39:49 PM
The reason I applied for this scholarship is because, I am tired of seeing people get put down by others just because of how they might look or dress or just for the way they think. I want to help put all types of bullying to and end.

We have to do better as a society, and we have to start by addressing cyber bullying at a very young age. I applied for this scholarship because I've experienced what it's like to read mean and hateful comments from anonymous people about my looks, my weight, my personality- you name it. It has had a serious impact on how I see myself and my overall psyche. Now that I'm older, though, I see it was just a cowardice act on their part. Still, we need to instill in kids as early as possible, to prevent other kids from feeling what I felt at their age.
Brianne G on 4/29/2020 4:08:46 PM
I applied for this scholarship because the actions of my bully almost got to me. The aimless words of a coward behind a screen almost shattered me completely, but didn't. Not everyone can say those words sadly. Cyber bullying is a con to the the digital environment that we live in. We sometimes forget that with the innovations and excitement of the digital world, also bring problems that still trying to fight against. Think about the harm that one bully can do in person, now imagine the harm that same bully can do anonymously behind a screen. These hateful words and comments stick with people for the rest of their lives. I still remember the day it happened to me like it was yesterday. Now, it is up to us to stop this horrible new wave of bullying and become advocates and voices for those who cannot help themselves. We all remember what its like to be defenselessly behind a screen being attacked... now it's our job to take back our power and help others.

Anaya B on 4/9/2020 1:53:12 PM
All around the world cyberbullying is an ongoing problem effecting teenagers everyday. This problem has gotten worst each year because of the easy access to abusing social media and technology. Personally, I’ve recently seen cyberbullying and the effects of it. Whenever you think you are sending something to another person on social media you think that it is private but that other person could post it and hold it against you in your vulnerability. This saddens me that people take the time to make posts about others because they think its funny. It’s hard to see cyberbullying because we all know that nothing on the internet is never really deleted. So whenever I see cyberbullying I immediately report it because I know it isn’t right.
Nick A. on 4/7/2020 8:42:01 PM
This is an important scholarship, not only for students, but for adults too. Through every generation, the age of children that get smart phones and gain access to social media gets younger and younger, which makes them more of a target for cyber bullying. You could argue that cyber bullying doesn’t have as many repercussions as face-to-face bullying. The bully typically has an account and stays anonymous so the victim doesn’t know who they really are. Cyberbullying doesn’t get enough attention in the community, and isn’t attended to appropriately to really stop the issue. Cyberbullying is the most common form of bullying in this time, and a scary form of bullying, while leaving many children, teens, and adults vulnerable on the internet. I personally been cyberbullied, like many other people before, and that inspires me to really want to put a stop to it all together.
Ashanti H on 3/28/2020 12:33:02 AM
Cyber bullying is a serious topic!! Bullying itself is!! I certainly feel parents should monitor their child/children online activity to ensure their safety!! It’s a mean world, full of evil people!! Parents should teach their children like mine taught me EVERY SWEET SMILE AND GESTURE, ISNT SWEET! Dealing with this issue I think parents should develope a relationship with their children so they will feel free to express their personal feelings!! Bullying DESTROYS LIVES, SELF CONFIDENCE AND SOMETIMES DEATH!!

The topic being addressed is one that hits close to my home town. At our high school kids are harassed and bullied online almost every day and no one sees the problem with this. It is important to bring an important issue like this to light.
Areyona E. on 3/16/2020 6:09:07 PM
I applied to the scholarship because cyberbullying is a major cause of children being depressed and suicidal. The fact I can go online to Instagram and see a comment harassing someone is disappointing. I want better for this world, so being apart of the stop online harassment is an important milestone.

This scholarship is important across the world because there are millions of people that have lost their lives because they where getting bullied. I believe that bringing awareness to cyber bullying it could prevent it from happening to other children or it could even help others if they are getting bullied themselves.
Shonta W on 1/21/2020 2:28:35 PM
This scholarship cause is important across the world. As social media continues to become more popular to children and adults of all ages, I believe it is essential to bring awareness to cyberbullying. Cyberbullying awareness can put a stop to cyberbullying before it happens or even help those who are dealing with cyberbullying.
Rebecca Anne Honaker on 1/10/2020 1:49:24 PM
Cyber bullying happens everywhere and can seriously affect our kids. When I become a parent I will limit my child's screen time because it happens too easily. This can be so dramatic in our kids lives and can seriously impact their brains. This needs to change. People need to think about their words and how they can affect the person on the other side.

Personally I dont think cyber bulling is a real issue. Just disregard what others say and if someone says mean things over the internet just turn the computer or phone off and do something fun.
TaShonna T on 12/25/2018 8:29:53 PM
I just submitted my essay. I can proudly say that even if I didn't win, I really enjoyed writing it.

I think this might be a great opportunity for me, im currently a junior in high school and I havent been cyberbullied, however I truly do understand the importance and how we should take this seriously.

I'm a sophomore in high school and I applied for this scholarship. I think that this opportunity is wonderful for learning how much cyberbullying effects not only our social and mental health, but other's as well. This scholarship is also wonderful for informing parents as well to the effects and extreme measures that cyberbullying causes.
Flora on 10/10/2018 11:54:26 AM
Aisha J- Hang in there! I hope that your life is better. There are people out there who won't hurt you. You just have to learn to heal and find them. I am praying for you and all the kids who are hurt and bullied. I was bullied too, and people do stupid things. Don't let them take your light. You are meant to do something great. You were just being tested by the bullies.

I wish they would go into specifics about like how they plan on doing this...there has to be a catch

I'm glad there's a scholarship for this. As a student who uses social media, cyber bullying is a very serious thing and can be done without anyone ever knowing of it. I will absolutely sign up for this! ^^

I am a sophomore in high school currently and I think I am interested in this scholarship opportunity. Not only will it benefit teens and parents but me as well, knowing both sides of the story of cyber bullying unfortunately. I may take this opportunity.

We the parent(s) need to show our children that bullying especially on the internet is wrong and very hurtful. Taking a stand on this is the right thing to do. Children need to learn that being nasty to each other doesn't pay

I applied for this scholarship because I think is something that needs to be talked about. Shedding light on the issue and effects of cyberbullying can greatly help someone who may be going through this problem or can help show someone what to do who knows and individual who is dealing with this problem. Also it is important to know what exactly cyberbullying is because some people may not even realize they are doing it. Great scholarship!
Jesse V on 5/23/2016 9:18:23 PM
@ Kylie C. I was reading through your submission comment and had a recommendation. To make your writing flow a little better, feel free to re-read your work backwards. Start from the last sentence and work your way up reading each sentence to ensure it does not sound awkward.

Cyberbullying is a form of harassing an individual or a group of people through the internet which is targeted mostly towards youth of any age. Most family members, friends, school staff are concerned about cyberbullying and are desperate to abolish it, but no one really knows what to do to get rid of it. As a teenager, unfortunately, I experienced being cyberbullied through Twitter.
Because of the sudden call of duty for my stepfather, I started my freshman year of high school in Colorado. At school, my teachers liked me and my grades were outstanding. By the end of the year, I had 3.2 GPA. Furthermore, I was a part of the Drama department and worked towards being physically fit through weight lifting. At home, I had a well relationship with my family. Of course we disagreed, but we were there for each other.
During the end of first semester of my freshman year, I developed a crush on this guy from my drama department. He was a sophomore and a year older than me. Now, looking back at those times, I regret the fact that I liked him, but it is in the past. This guy had another “lover”. She was a senior. Sadly, that is really all I know about her. It started with her staring at me across the lunchroom. Then, she found me on twitter, followed me, and eventually direct messaged to me. She seemed friendly at first and she only asked me if I knew the guy that she also liked. Clueless of her real intensions, she was already spreading rumors about me to her friends and on social media, which eventually got around the school. She called me inappropriate names. She talked about me on Twitter coding my name to “fried rice” or “egg roll” mocking the fact that I am Filipino-Chinese. It got so bad that one morning before school; I asked my mom if I could stay home for that day because I did not want to come to school. I cried and said that I felt ugly. My mom comforted me and let to stay home, but I decided to come because I did not want to miss an important test during the da

It's important to work on deleting cyber bullying because it needs to end, I say this because Cyber bullying can harm not only the person your bullying's life but yours also. It can make the person feel worthless like they are not important. It can also bring hurt to the people around them. Cyber Bullying is a horrible way to hurt people. It's like your holding whatever it is over their head because you think it would be a great idea but instead you ruin not only their life but your's also because people will see what you are doing or what you did to that person and they will no longer talk to you. The person being bullied may have enough problems in their life and have no where to turn and just wanting to end up ending it because of everything around them. Cyber bullying has also led up to many suicides but not only it led to suicide's it led to ruining a family and another person's life because they have done something wrong instead of help trying to fix it so now they suffer the consequences and they are now suffering and regretting for ever doing it. So stand up and help the world stop cyber bullying. You'll never know who is next or what will happen.
Hunter E on 3/9/2016 1:40:22 PM
Question 2: It is important to delete cyber bullying. Cyber bullying occurs twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. A person can post pictures and comments without attaching a name. As technology increases, cyber bullying is on the rise. Cyber bullying is a quick resource to hurt someone, and the comments/pictures reach out to many others that often participate in the action. This form of bullying is easier because you do not see the reaction of the person you are talking about. Bullying causes deep emotional hurt and people deal with it in different ways. Some of those ways are becoming withdrawn, cutting, anger, depression and sad to say suicide. People do not understand that the words they say or type have two effects: 1. cut like a knife or 2. lift a person up. The cyber world can be used to share some wonderful memories and thoughts......lets help create a society that uses it for positive promotion.
Alyssa O on 3/4/2016 11:21:40 PM
Cyber bullying. Two strong words that have a huge impact on teens life's. It's extremely important to get rid of cyber bullying because it's like a monster but it's online and on social media, it's horrifying words come at you and get your feelings hurt and attack you. It's all over social media for example Facebook probably the biggest spot to see bullying that's where everyone talks crap and does stupid stuff to hurt someone badly. I can really relate to this situation because my little sister she's in middle school and she gets cyber bullied on Facebook and through text. I see the way she acts toward it and how it makes her feel no one accepts her at school she feels alone and it kills me on the inside when I notice her pain. It's not a game or a joke I take it very seriously and to heart. It's time to end it and make people see how big of an impact it truly has on students and even adults. - Alyssa R. Ortiz

Cyberbullying is becoming a problem because there's so many ways they have access too , such as twitter, Facebook , after school and askme. Some of these sites you can say things anonymously or even create a fake account. The victims, are emotionally brought down and can only take so much and may either be depressed or potentially commit suicide. There are block buttons for some sites but its really hard not to look at the things people have to say about you. This situation effects their friends and families as well, the bully's don't think about the outcome. There's some many bullies out there because its for their own entertainment or they secretly have problems in there life. A lot of schools don't really do anything about this problem, just because it wasn't in school during school hours. But there needs to be a punishment created, cyberbullying needs to end before many more feel depressed or commit suicide!
Alexis R on 2/26/2016 5:20:57 AM
My name is Alexis Relatado and I say that cyberbullying must end once and for all. Honestly, I was never cyberbullied, but I see a lot of victims who got cyberbullied. On social media I see embarrassing pictures with a lot of mean comments, these people who posted the picture have no idea that they are bullying a real person. Victims of cyberbullying had gone into a deep depression and isolation, had suicide in their vision and repeatedly transferred to other schools. Our parents told that they can't protect us in the online world, so a lesson to all those cyberbullies, "Watch your words because you don't know that picture you posted online is actually a real person."
Edward M on 2/23/2016 3:43:43 PM
Option 2: Ever since the early 21st century, social media has been a way to express and show off what you do. It’s almost like a collage of your whole life just in pictures and comments. However, people have the ability to hide from their victims, and therefore leads to internet trolling or cyber bullying. Cyber abuse takes tolls on people like me and others everyday. A personal story to be told is about my cousin and his cyber bullying experience. My cousin “came out of the closet” or declared that he was homosexual on Facebook because he felt the need to let people know; he didn’t want to live a fake life. When he did that people commented on his status saying things like “keep this to yourself” or even more vulgar comments that really upset him and me being his cousin. The quote “sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt me” isn’t true in every scenario. People left comments containing profanity on his status and it actually made him feel depressed and he cried frequently about it. I insisted that he delete the post but he said people needed to know the truth. My cousin was devastated to find out that some of his friends felt differently about him and second guessed even being around him just because of his sexuality. All in all, cyber bullying is a cheap way to hurt someone's feelings and make yourself feel better.
Elizabeth c on 2/15/2016 1:24:37 PM
option 2: Growing up i never really was the "popular" kid in school. I was known as the girl that was nice to everyone and had a big heart.. Middle school is when it all started. I sat in the way back on the bus so no one would bother me but they somehow get to me. I didn't let it offend me too much they never really got to my social media accounts but I've seen it happen to other people and it honestly tears me apart seeing it. You don't know what happens behind that computer screen or what they're feeling inside. We need to put a stop to all of this!
Jacqueline C on 1/3/2016 11:11:29 PM
I have not applied for this application because the form does not give an option for a High School Freshman. If possible could this be added to give me an opportunity. Thank you!

i submitted an essay about this topic already, but for a different website can i submit another one for this website?
Stephanie O on 11/3/2015 8:27:54 PM
Personally, I have not experienced cyber bullying but I do see it often on social media and it is horrible and frightening what people post up. The victim online, is viewed by millions of people not knowing the victims story, only judging and criticizing by what they see. All the name callings, teasing and provoking can lead the victim to cause self harm or worse suicide and It Is even worse when the cyber bullies don't mean to cause a tragedy and when they do so its to late and they cant take it back. I can sympathize with the victim and I wouldn't wish to be in their place. I don't think anyone would want to be in a situation like that, so why torture people online? Cyberbullying needs to end now!
Rebecca B on 10/23/2015 12:05:03 PM
I was never really well with any type of bullying. I couldn't handle it ever since even elementary school. Cyber bullying got me worse due to realizing I dealt with bullying at school only to have to come home to it as well. I was getting messages and comments saying cruel things, even text messages. I was miserable and had no clue what to do about anything that I was being told. I was scared to even be myself anymore. My anxiety took over and I was freaking out anytime I would even think of asking for help, I felt pathetic. It was leading to me self harming and even attempting suicide. So, cyber bullying has negatively effected my life and it should be stopped so nobody will have to go through the same things.
Jonathan O on 10/17/2015 11:02:38 PM
You guys know if you have to go on the website and actually apply right?
Amanda l on 10/15/2015 1:24:12 PM
My name is Amanda lee. I think is is important to delete cyber bulling because it can lead the victim of the cyber bulling to hurt themselves. It can also make the person feel terrible about themselves. I would want to end cyber bulling because it affect people , and makes them to have low self-esteem. It has effected me because I was cybe bullied and it made me think I was useless.
Jamin N on 10/12/2015 12:43:52 PM
Option 1: It's important to delete cyberbullying because cyberbullying is dangerous. Cyberbulling has cause teens to suffer from sadness, anxiety, depression, anger, and shame. Cyberbullying can also used for a weapon. Cyberbulling can cause people to suicide because of all the sadness and shame that cyberbullying caused them to feel. We are all human, we're not different. From the victims point of view, they feel sadness and depression. Just because it's fun to you, it doesn't mean it's fun for them.
andre f on 10/12/2015 10:30:54 AM
Option 1. It is super important to delete cyber bullying because no form of bullying is okay. You can hurt someones feelings or worse push them to the point of self harming themselves. Suicide is the #3 reason of teen deaths. So lets delete cyber bullying.
Brandon W on 10/5/2015 10:40:22 AM
Question 1 :It is very important for cyber-bullying to be deleted. Many peoples lives are affected by cyber-bullying. People are being cyber bullied everyday and it needs to stop. Cyber-bullying causes people to feel worthless, it makes people feel bad about their selves, makes people not want to love themselves, and it also causes self harm. Suicide is the #3 killer of teens across the one world , and cyber-bullying is one reason why teenagers today are commiting suicide.Cyber-bullying can also spread way faster than just bullying from one person face to face. It can spread because if someone is getting bullied on social media , one of the bullies friends might join him or her and bullying someone , or if someone sees someone else bullying that person and sees that its making people or laugh, or can make them popular that person may also join in bullying that person just to fit in.
Brianna L on 10/5/2015 8:51:05 AM
Option 2: I was never a very popular person, and neither were a lot of the friends I have managed to make over these long years. Cyber bullying has effected my life in many negative ways. I would receive text messages telling me to kill myself and Facebook messages telling me that I was worthless and that all i did was make other people miserable. For a long time, I was afraid to talk to anybody about what was going on in my life. I didn't like to tell others what was wrong with me 1; out of fear that they would see how really messed up I was and leave, and 2; due to my bipolar depression and social anxiety, I hate putting my problems onto other people and asking them for help. This all lead to multiple suicide attempts and self mutilation. Cyber bullying is wrong and affects more than just a few people in the world, so it is important that we work to get rid of it altogether.
John S on 10/4/2015 9:55:41 PM
Option one - It is important to work for the destruction of cyberbullying because it is emotionally and potentially physically harmful. Cyberbullying can start with just a few mean words, but eventually may spiral downward out of control into a dark pit of self loath, hatred, and despair. Dangerous to both the victim and aggressor, cyberbullying encourages poor social behavior by spreading rude statements simply not acceptable in the adult, working world. Grinding self confidence into the asphalt, internet bullying creates a sense of incompetence and inescapable torment in the victim, potentially leading to suicide. In the aggressor, these brutish attacks upon others becomes the social normal and may lead to co-worker tensions in the future. Cyberbullying must end now because it puts both the attacker and the attacked in harmful situations.

Where do I submit my essay
Ashia J on 9/3/2015 10:13:30 PM
Question 2: "How has cyberbullying personally affected you?" Cyberbullying has personally affected my life because I was a victim of cuberbullying in high school. My peers repeatedly teased me because of my weight. I wasn't like your average thin girl in high school. I suffered from excessive weight gain due to being sexually abused. Eating was my only outlet. It gave me comfort in a way no one else did. I didn't have anyone to turn to or to confide in. Kids would post pictures of me on social media and say mean things about me. I remember feeling sad, helpless and depressed because I had never felt so humiliated in my entire life. Everywhere I would go I felt like everyone was watching me in disgust. I felt like my life was ruined. No one should ever have to experience that pain. I was extremely traumatized for years. Cyberbulling affected my social life, mental health, physical health and my overall self esteem. Could you imagine waking up everyday feeling like you're living a nightmare? Cuberbullying is a serious issue that needs to cease. It only takes one post on social media for a victim to commit suicide. Let's work together to help save lives.
Jason S on 9/1/2015 11:16:12 AM
Option 1: I believe it is important to work hard to delete cyberbullying in many ways. Cyberbullying has been a major factor in young children's lives and how they interact with others around them. When someone is being cyberbullied it can cause a traumatic experience for the individual causing suicidal thoughts or actions. Its time we stop the cyberbullying and talk to our youth and let them know they are safe and actions are being taken.
Amanda M on 8/29/2015 3:39:15 PM
Option 2: "How has cyberbullying personally affected you?"
Cyberbullying has personally affected me ever since I entered college. After becoming Greek, everyone who was "cool" had to have every social media app there was, twitter, Facebook, snap chat, instagram, etc. Even apps such as Tinder where a person judges another by five photos and gives others a feeling of degrading and devalue through making one feel not good enough to be matched with or not worthy enough when all the other person wants is to "hook up" for a night. When I entered my sorority and the greek system, I assumed I would be gaining lifelong friends who would support me and be there for me like everyone advertises it. Instead, I felt as if I were cyberbullied every single day through social media apps that we all "had" to have. On Facebook people would go through your old photos and comment on them, making fun of how awful you looked or how fat you used to be and making comments such as "thank God for puberty." On twitter, the amount of sub tweets peers would post about me and others was mind-blowing, and I felt my self confidence go down more and more each day. With each instagram picture that was not liked, or a sarcastic comment was put on, I felt like I was being judged in every way, shape and form. I don't believe cyber bullying is just the direct hassling and interrogating of another person directly through messages, but there are so many more discrete forms to it. With social media and being involved temporarily with that community, I felt like I was always constantly having to prove myself. To prove I looked decent enough, to prove I was a good student, to prove I had money or nice things, to prove I was funny, or serious, or sarcastic, or witty. With social media and the way that others took it and treated your attempt to "fit in", it seemed as if with every post, comment, or tweet I was constantly being judged and tore down. I went into a bit of depression and lack of self confidence,

Where do I submit my essay?
Lonisha H on 8/26/2015 4:30:47 PM
Option 1: "Why is it important to work to delete cyberbullying?"
It is important to work to delete Cyber bullying because if we as people do not find a way to do so we as people will continue to fail and accept viloence. We have to stop commenting, liking post , sharing post and encouraging behavior that is unacceptable. I've always thought that an audience to negative behavior only creates a negative support system. If these negative situations aren't given any attention and people learn to communicate and figure out how to compromise, I believe the negative behavior would begin to no longer get acknowledged. Without working as a team to delete the bullying the bullying willike only continue. Stop promoting the negativity and be anice example for positivity!
Felicia P on 8/24/2015 8:00:55 PM
This is a subject i have strong feelings about. Cyberbullying needs to cease! kids and teens commit suicide everyday because of the rude and disgusting things others post on the internet. Schools should be more involved in this because they feel since it was in the "school building" or not during "schools hours" they feels as if they should not do anything about it. I myself experienced Cyberbullying first hand, i was bullied for two year when i was younger for having braces and glasses. this generation thinks its not a big of a deal when things like this happen but best believe this inst fun and games, these are peoples lives we are taking about. Cyberbullying in to END! More actions needs to be put in this.
