  • Scholarship Description
  • The Mary “Alane” Marks Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the life and work of our beloved teammate Alane Marks. Alane was employed by PPS as a recruiter, a role in which she positively affected the livelihood of those she came in contact with every day.

Alane was known for her kind heart and incredible soul. Alane loved to talk and started every day with a smile. She had a genuine interest in others and an eagerness to please those around her. She was a beloved fiancé, daughter, sister, coworker and friend.

In response to Alane’s untimely and sudden death, Preferred Personnel Solutions and her colleagues agreed to honor Alane’s compassion, drive, genuineness, patience, and career success through this educational scholarship.

Eligible applicants must be Georgia residents, pursuing a degree in Human Resources or Business with specific and achievable plans for career-related education, training or professional development. Must be able to show that the purpose and amount of the announced grant would make it possible to implement education, training or professional development plans within the 12-month period following the grant award date. A minimum GPA of 3.2 to applicants in 12th grade is required. Applicants must write an essay of 500 words or more on their high school experience, college goals, career plans and how this scholarship will help them complete college.
